 WHY START
WINGFOILING?

WINGFOILING, WINGSURFING

The new watersport everyone is talking about!

Wingfoiling or wingsurfing is a new water sports discipline that made its debut during the summer of 2019 when boards equipped with hydrofoils first appeared on the market. Through the sport, the rider glides on the water above its surface while holding a light and compact inflatable wing. To use a wing, begin on a standup paddleboard or a compact board equipped with a hydrofoil to gain enough momentum to generate lift.

Wingfoiling is neither windsurfing nor kitesurfing. Born in Hawaii, this trendy new sport is a mix between the two disciplines. It’s not a way to jump higher, surf bigger, or perform better, it’s simply an alternative way to spend time on the water.

The main draw of the wingfoil is the way it moves easily across a body of water with a light breeze or a hydrofoil underfoot. You can ride upwind, sail in calm water, surf swell in the open ocean, or catch waves. The feeling is like flying above the surface of the water and the sensation is like anything else—you will quickly become addicted.

With our wide range of boards, wings, and foils, TAHE will help you get equipped to experience the joy of wingfoiling, regardless of your experience or skill level.

WHY START WINGFOILING?

1| You can quickly get the feeling of flying

A true mix between windsurfing and kitesurfing, the wingfoil allows you to quickly experience the thrill of gliding across the water. If you begin on land with a mountain board or a skateboard, you will pick it up even more quickly, as land practice allows you to learn how to handle the wing.

2| It doesn’t require a lot of physical strength

Our inflatable wing "Alizé" is light, easy to handle, and doesn't require much physical strength, making it easy to learn.

3| It's easy to understand

If you start on the water in good conditions with a stable board like the "Aria", a light breeze, and a flatwater surface, learning to use the wing is pretty straightforward and only requires a basic understanding of wind and conditions. Learning to fly a foil requires a little more patience and time, as it is a completely new sensation.

4| It packs down small

Once deflated and folded, our "Alizé" wing fits in a small backpack. Our beginner inflatable board "Aria" pairs well with it and is just as compact. Additionally, the foil can be completely disassembled and stored in a special bag, making transportation and storage a non-issue.

5|Progression is quick

Compared to windsurfing, surfing, or kitesurfing, the learning curve in winging is very quick. After just a few sessions on the water with a standup paddleboard or a wind SUP, you’ll be ready for the foil. After that, it usually takes about ten rides to understand and master—you’ll be flying in no time.
