The Formula Windsurfing European Championships 2023 at the Multivan Windsurf Cup Heiligenhafen (Germany) concluded on Sunday, August 27th, after four days of intense competition. The event's return to the Baltic Sea resort was a success, as official races were conducted on three out of the four scheduled competition days and a total of ten results was accomplished.

One of the most contested categories was the Junior U-17 division. Erik Wehkamp earned the title Formula Windsurfing European Junior Champion 2023. However, the spotlight shone brightly on the fifteen-year-old rider, Paul Regber (GER-17, TAHE, Techno Wind Foil 130), who hails from the vicinity of Kiel. In his debut on the competition scene Regber engaged in an intense battle with Pelle Bo Behrendt from Berlin for the coveted second-place position. Regber emerged victorious, securing the title of Formula Windsurfing European Junior Vice-Champion 2023 on his Techno Wind Foil 130. Regber's performance also earned him the title of the Foil Race One European Junior Champion 2023.

“I am absolutely thrilled about my result. I am sailing the Techno Wind Foil 130 since two years and train with the regional windsurfing squat of Schleswig-Holstein since this spring. But this was my first official regatta. The TWF equipment worked great and offers a great performance with easy control. So I was able to push for the podium. Thank you especially to my trainer Vincent Langer who prepared me perfectly for this competition”, says Paul Regber after his success.

The successful return of the Multivan Windsurf Cup to Heiligenhafen underlined the Baltic Sea resort's reputation as an exceptional host for elite windsurfing events. This accomplishment has paved the way for an eagerly anticipated return next year from August 29th to September 1st, 2024.
