The O'pen Skiff class is excited to share its 2025 international racing calendar, featuring major events across three continents, including the World and European Championships that highlight emerging sailing talent.
The 2025 season reinforces O'pen Skiff's dedication to youth development through an accessible approach to competitive sailing. The 2025 calendar perfectly blends competitive racing with the fun, accessible spirit of O'pen Skiff.
From the Eurochallenge series to the World Championships in Japan and the final firework with the Europeans in Barcelona, O'pen Skiff is fostering pathways for growth while keeping the enjoyment of sailing at the forefront.
SEASON HIGHLIGHTS
The season begins with the O'pen Skiff Eurochallenge 1 in Calasetta, Sardinia (April 18-20), O'pen Skiff Eurochallenge 2 in Balatonmariafurdo, Hungary (May 30-June 1), alongside the O'pen French Tour at Lac d'Annecy (April 19-21) and the Finale of O'pen French Tour 2024-2025 in Quiberon, France (May 8-10).
These early events provide the perfect warm-up opportunity for competitors to test their skills in diverse conditions before the championship season intensifies.
THE O'PEN SKIFF WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS IN NISHINOMIYA, OSAKA, JAPAN
(July 16-23) represents a watershed moment for the class with 100 sailors already registered. This marks the first time the Worlds will be hosted in Asia, bringing together competitors from across the globe and highlight Asian and Oceanian O'pen Skiff scene. Nishinomiya Harbor, nestled between Osaka and Kobe, offers ideal racing conditions with its reliable sea breezes and protected waters.

O'PEN SKIFF EUROPEAN CHAMPIONSHIPS IN BARCELONA, SPAIN
(October 24-31) will serve as the spectacular finale to the continental season. For the first time, we will be racing at this mythical venue for sailing, famous for hosting the America's Cup and International sailing races. The event will leverage Barcelona's world-class facilities and perfect Mediterranean conditions with very strong European participation expected.

The end of the season will be officially done with the O'pen Skiff World Team Racing Championships in Cagliari, Italy (November 14-16)
2025 NORTH AMERICAN "UN-REGATTA"
In North America, the season kicks off with the 2025 O'pen Skiff North American "Un-Regatta" in Florida (April 11-13). This unique event prioritizes fun and skill development over traditional racing formats. Expect creative course designs and challenges that focus on enjoyment and speed.
